Really? It's May?

Saturdays Auction got moved indoors due to the rain and the cold!  Thank goodness, otherwise I would've had to stayed home.  40 degrees and rain is NOT my idea of a fun day.  However, my pesky vehicle proved to be a stumbling block as it had a dead battery before and after the auction.  Hubby is working on that issue now (I hope).  He's reconditioning my old battery and also looking for a new vehicle for me, Yea!

Local auctions are nice because 1. I can sleep in 2. I don't have to drive far and 3. there are usually friends and family to chat with.  Just a few dealers there, so not too bad.

Here are all the little baubles I got this weekend

\

I actually picked up a few other things too....
Two small globes (globe bank) for my youngest son...

Lincoln logs (this is 1 of 2 boxes full w/ old plans) for my oldest son...

Some vanity items for eBay, 2 hand mirrors, a hat stand, a potpourri sachet  a japan jewelry/trinket box (has little drawers inside the doors (my boys want to keep), a wooden shoe expander and a tin jewelry box with powder compartment in top...

Huge jar of buttons...

Some local advertising items...

Wood praying hands, pottery insulator, Hawaii hang loose wooden hand and cast iron stagecoach bookends...

And this cool retro lamp...got a turned wood lamp also, but it blew up in my hand, so I cut the cord and will see if it remains a lamp or I convert it to something else...

Its another lousy weather day in my little corner of the world.  35 degrees and snowing this morning and supposed to last thru the weekend.  I had big plans for this week, estate sales, auctions, flea markets...I had two lined up each day :(

So I braved the snow and cold air to go to an estate sale, I was about an hour late (partly from lack of motivation, partly due to a dead battery in my car).  There were several tables of goodies to pick thru, lots of modern jewelry, but I got a few older and unique pieces.

Mexico Sterling Cross, Pope John Paul II Italy crucifix cross, older miraculous medal, carved mother of pearl pendant with Nativity scene on mother of pearl bead chain, two Mary medals on chain, carved mother or pearl odd earring, enamel egg fob with pocket watch inside on a gold filled watch chain, newer sphere silver tone watch pendant on a tiny rollo chain, that I believe is sterling, carved bone beads and elephant necklace.

Several pairs of earring dangles

Leather leprechaun hat with twisted rope 'switch' and a pendant that looks like a light post,  other two sides are red rhinestones, this brooch has a tube clasp closure.  Three mast ship with enameling, looks to be sterling filigree with gold vermeil.  Signed 'Art' kitty in Christmas stocking brooch.  Signed 'Weiss' green rhinestone and faux pearl brooch.  Round Damascene Star brooch, also has a tube catch.  Unsigned white enamel butterfly with pave rhinestones along the wings, faux pearl body and garnet eyes.

AND LOOK AT THIS!!!
Is this not the cutest little sewing tin you've ever seen?  I almost overlooked it, but opened the lid and....

Ooo.....old tape measures, a tin pill bottle full of needles and a celluloid bank advertising sewing kit.

The lid even has an integrated cork for your stray pins!

There are several sewing kits, and needle books in the base.

And Thimbles!!  Several advertising tin and celluloid, one sterling!

Pretty little things to cheer me up from the weather!
